About Björkö SeaLodge
A place shaped by the island and the people who live here
SeaLodge grew out of a need that existed on the island, but also from a desire to create a place that fits naturally into the surroundings. Since 2018, we have welcomed guests for many different reasons – a weekend away, a work stay, a celebration, or simply to exchange city life for something quieter. Many return year after year, often to enjoy a few peaceful days close to the sea and the gentle rhythm of the small harbour just outside.
The rooms are simple and practical, with kitchens and private bathrooms. The Gottskär room also features a small relaxation area with a sauna and hot tub, which is especially appreciated during autumn and winter. From the ground floor, it is just a few steps down to the quay, and from the upper rooms you can see the boathouse rooftops and boats moving in and out of the harbour.
All our rooms are named after fishing boats from Björkö – Gottskär, Strannefjord, Kaskelot and Lagun. This creates a clear connection to the island’s history and everyday life. Strannefjord is the only one of these boats still in active use and is often moored just outside SeaLodge on weekends, a detail many guests find especially charming.

An island of everyday life, sea, and small places to discover
Björkö is an archipelago island where everything is close by: the sea, paths leading to the cliffs, boathouses along the quay, and the long road that ties the community together. Despite being only about thirty minutes from Gothenburg, the island offers a sense of calm that many appreciate, along with a lived-in atmosphere that reflects a place where people live and work all year round.
The harbour is the island’s natural centre. Both locals and visitors pass through, and there is always something small going on – a boat heading out, someone buying fish, children running down to the piers. Just a few minutes from SeaLodge you’ll find Restaurant Seaside and ICA Nära Björkö, and in the harbour there is also a pizzeria, ice cream kiosk, fish shop, marine store, and small local markets that appear throughout the year.
Next to the accommodation is Björkö Seafood, our partner for fresh, daily-caught seafood. Just one minute away you’ll also find Barlinds Beer brewery, an old icehouse, and an apple press.
